Fort Calgary Wheel and Runner Association

Annual group camp and trail ride

If you have a spouse that is a member of the Sam Steele's Scouts, consider joining Fort Calgary as both groups attend similar events.

A local group of equestrians formed in 1979 who wanted to associate their love of horses with the history of Fort Calgary.  An integral role in the settlement of Fort Calgary was played by the horse.  The group is an active participant in many local parades:  High River, Airdrie, Cochrane, Longview, Strathmore, Taber, Langdon, Crossfield and of course, the Calgary Stampede Parade.   The group also participates in parades in the International Ring and gets up close and personal with the public during it’s guard duties at Spruce Meadows, at their three main competitions each year.

In addition, the group enjoys trail riding, group bar-be-ques, get togethers and fun gymkhanas.

Membership fees:  $30.00/family      $25.00/single
